The 9th edition of the Corporate Challenge Cup, held at North Bristol and organised by 7 Bamboos Rugby in partnership with Wooden Spoon, marked a resounding success, with a record-breaking 24 teams participating from Bristol and surrounding cities including Gloucester, Cheltenham, and Cardiff. This year’s event not only highlighted the exhilarating sport of touch rugby but also focused on fundraising for the esteemed Wooden Spoon Charity.

The tournament, which has grown in popularity and scale over the years, was a brilliant showcase of athleticism and community spirit. The Wooden Spoon Charity, renowned for its dedication to supporting children with disabilities, fielded two teams and utilized the event to highlight their impactful work, including the construction of facilities like sensory rooms that make a real difference in children’s lives.

In a gripping Cup final, the Bristol Jets clinched victory over last year’s champions, Deloitte, with a tight score of 3-2. The Plate final saw Safran Landing Systems emerge victorious against Stirling, demonstrating their prowess on the field. In the Shield final, Rolls-Royce triumphed over McBraida, rounding off the day’s thrilling competitions.

The 2024 Corporate Challenge Cup was more than just a rugby tournament; it was a celebration of community, competition, and charity.
